2010 Information and Action on the Memorial Field Design Project
Summary of actions taken during 2010 on the Memorial Field Design Project:
At the February 8, 2010 board meeting the Board identified the team of Palumbo Skibinski Crawford as the preferred choice of firms based on a recommendation from the CAC for Facilities following a presentation by the Citizens Advisory Committee for Facilites and a public interview process. Attached is the full memo to the board regarding this process including the firms interviewed and the deliberations of the committee.
Memo to the board on Architect for Memorial Field
The committee further recommended that the Board explore a fee for initial programming services prior to project design, which the Board accepted and authorized administration to negotiate.
Presented at the March 15, 2010 Board Meeting and tabled:
A proposal letter outlining a Programming Phase for a fee of $40,000.00 is attached. The letter further outlines a potential Pre-Design Phase option in the amount of $50,000.00 to $60,000.00. The alternate approach would be to accept the initial program and schematic design fee in the amount of $123,750.00 to $156,750.00.

Assumptions and Fees
On March 29, 2010 the board approved the original proposed fee and scope of services submitted by Palumbo Skibinski Crawford for the Memorial Field project in the amount of $123,750 to $156,750 as recommended. Mr. Poprik informed the board there will be an approximately six month process, and then they will need to be prepared to move forward. He will prepare a development calendar, talk with stakeholders, and review options. Memo to the Board
June 7, 2010 - Community Dialogue on Memorial Field, 7:00 p.m. Mount Nittany Middle School Cafeteria. The Board of School Directors seeks community input to help shape the vision for Memorial Field. A presentation by the architects will be followed by small and large group discussion.
September 22, Board Work Session on Memorial Field, Palumbo Skibinski Crawford, architects for the project, presented several options for improving Memorial Field and making it safer and handicap accessible. Minutes of the meeting.
October 19, 2010, 7:00 p.m., the second Community Dialogue on Memorial Field, Mount Nittany Middle School Cafeteria, focused on a presentation by the architects of the options for renovating Memorial Field along with opportunities for feedback/input from community members.
